Choose a grooming reward you can afford to honour

Loyal-T Cards Team · September 2026

A good grooming reward should be easy to explain, suitable for the pet and practical for the salon to deliver. Start with the service and your costs before choosing a discount percentage.

Compare three reward structures

StructureUseful whenCheck before offering it
Specified add-on after qualifying visitsYou can provide something customers value with predictable cost and timeSuitability for the pet, supplies, extra minutes and any paid add-on revenue it replaces
Fixed credit toward a qualifying serviceA money amount is easier to explain than a menu of rewardsMinimum eligible service, exclusions, margin and how the credit is applied at checkout
A clearly defined stamp rewardRepeat eligible visits are the behaviour you want to recogniseWhich services count, threshold, redemption rules and whether the customer can realistically reach it

These are program ideas to review with the merchant. Availability and exact configuration must be confirmed during setup. A loyalty reward must never encourage an unsuitable service or an unnecessarily early grooming appointment; the pet's appropriate care schedule comes first.

Cost the full promise

Suppose a salon is considering an add-on with AED 12 of incremental supplies and labour. It expects 20 redemptions during a review period. The direct reward budget is AED 240. If the reward replaces an add-on that customers would otherwise have paid for, also account for the contribution you lose from those sales.

This is an illustrative calculation. It is not an observed Loyal-T result, a recommended price, or a forecast of extra appointments. The worksheet separates reward costs from the contribution required to cover them.

Keep bookings and loyalty responsibilities clear

Loyal-T Cards prepares the platform, branded wallet card, initial configuration and QR materials, and onboards your team. Your team invites customers, records eligible activity and redeems rewards. Keep your existing booking and payment systems. Loyal-T Cards does not automatically schedule appointments or synchronise booking transactions in the current offer.

At checkout, a useful invitation is: “We have a loyalty card you can keep in your phone's wallet. Scan here to see the reward and add the card.” On a return visit, staff check the card and record the eligible service. A booking confirmation on its own is not evidence that a loyalty visit was recorded.

Judge it over an appropriate period

Grooming visits may be several weeks apart. Thirty days can reveal whether staff understand the process; it may be too short to evaluate return behaviour. Track the same group for a suitable service interval and distinguish new customers, repeat visits and unique people.

Our anonymous UAE pet-groomer case study reports 4,679 repeat visits and AED 116,804.72 in loyalty revenue from 24 August 2025 to 23 August 2026. These are recorded activity, not proof that the program created that revenue or that another salon will achieve it.

Choose the smallest clear reward your team can deliver consistently. Review redemption cost, staff workload and customer feedback before expanding the promise. See the pet-groomer demo and current annual plan.
